Sensei Elvin Gonzalez 5th Dan
Sensei Gonzalez, Born March 25,1954; and in 1961 I developed juvenile diabetes. My first exposure to karate was thanks to my seventh grade classmate Jerry Evans. He convinced me that karate makes a difference. We studied together for a year and a half. Our school closed on us and fortunately we meant Craig Powell and I studied with him till high school. I met Jose Soto in Clinton high school. He espoused me to a karate called Goju-Kai. We organized a Karate club in our high school and I went to college and Jose Soto had open schools and I helped him with teaching his students. I met an exciting instructor his name Luis Morales Sensei. His energy was felt by everyone attending the dojo. He would make trips to Japan an then Okinawa. His search for knowledge benefited everyone. He decided to join Jundokan and we were under Teruo Chinen Sensei; his quest for knowledge kept him asking questions and unfortunately the answers were not forth coming. He had the honor of meeting Hokama Sensei and that's history. His wisdom and instruction by Hokama sensei has energized my sensei and everyone in our organization. we are a family and I am proud to be a member.

II began my martial arts training at 17 in England in Tae Kwon-Do, from a desire to learn self-defence and improve overall my physical conditioning. After several belt advancements and also some Judo training, I was fortunate to be introduced by a friend to my first Okinawan Goju-Ryu karate teacher, Sensei Mike Lambert. My eyes were immediately opened to the power and effectiveness of Goju-Ryu karate-jutsu, and a lifelong passion began. Upon moving to the USA, and after much research into and visiting different schools in NYC, I was fortunate to be recommended to Sensei Luis Morales. Since becoming his student in his South Bronx Dojo in 1993, I have been committed to developing my understanding of this art under his tutelage. Sensei Morales' extraordinary passion, dedication to his students and open approach to learning from all martial sources is an inspiration that informs my own training and life daily. This makes our Kenshikai Goju-Ryu school a great training environment for kids and adults alike, hoping to build personal confidence, physical strength and endurance and vital life-preservation skills.

Sensei John R. Grace 5th Dan
Born in Homestead, Pittsburg, Pa. in 1962, At the age of 4 years old my family moved to Santurce, Puerto Rico. We then relocated to Fajardo, Puerto Rico, where I was raised. In Fajardo, Puerto Rico, I learned to play basketball, which is my first love. As a teenager I would go see martial arts movies and was curious about the arts. I am a father of 3 children and a grandfather of 4 grandchildren. I have always been interested in martial arts but had never had the chance to practice. In 1985, I moved from Puerto Rico, to New York City. I started to work for Krasdale Foods located in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx. While on the job a co-worker introduced me to Sensei Luis Morales. The co-worker had previously mentioned to me that Sensei Morales was the person I should go see. I have since been under the tutelage of Sensei Morales going on 12 years, where I have learned, enjoyed, and appreciate the true spirit of karate.
Through Sensei Morales I have had the honor and privilege to train under himself as well as Sensei Tetsuhiro Hokama.
I expect my journey to be long, enjoyable and full of knowledge.
